Let's Scrap Sketches

Happy Saturday!!  If you know me, you know that I love the Let's Scrap blog and the girls.  So of course I had to play with their newest sketch.  Without much ado, here is all you need to know ...

Product:  KaiserCraft Oh So Lovely Range, Distress Ink, Petaloo Flowers, Leave Punch, Border Punch, Silhouette, Prima Color Bloom Spray
Let's Scrap Sketch - 1-15-17
I started out with the sketch ... and then it sort of just took on a life of it's own!  I love these photos of me and my sisters.  Last year was a hard year for us, and it took a lot of hard work to get back to a good place.  These pics celebrate us, and the love we share!

I love this KaiserCraft range!  It's an older one, but the colors and patterns are right up my alley ... and all the pinks ... Just love it!!

Here is some close-up's ...

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  Hope you spend it with your loved ones!!

Stuck?! Challenge ... again!

Good Morning!  My grandson  Llewellyn, and I just spent time baking some ginger cookies ... he is such a great little helper!  And he loves cookie dough ... :-)!!

Yesterday I had some time to play with the second sketch that Stuck?! Sketches has on there blog!  At first I wasn't too sure about this sketch, but I am very happy with the end result!  Except for my rookie mistake :-) ... but I'll get back to that!  Here is a look at both my layout and the sketch.

Products:  KaiserCraft's Blue Bay Range, Celebr8 Chipboard, Tim Holtz metal embellies, border punch, Distress Ink, Faber Castell Gelatos, Prima Color Bloom, Bazzill Craft Cardstock, small magnet.

Stuck?! January 15 2017 Challenge
Here are a closer look ...

I painted this a soft teal color and distressed the edges ... Loved how this turned out!

I used a script stencil and the Faber Castell gelatos to add some texture to my background.  Used Distress Ink on the chippie together with some of the paint.

I cut this cute fold-out with my Silhouette to enable me to add more photos to my layout.  But then I made a rookie mistake ... I added the big metal embellishment (see pic below) to the fold of my fold out, which means I could not open it.  Since I glued the heavy metal piece down with hot glue I wasn't about to ruin it all by ripping it from my page.  I then decided to cut a piece to just put in the fold that can be pulled out.  This worked great!

To this piece I added some pictures of the hotel we stayed at in Thailand!

That is it for me today!  I will be back soon with one more layout that was created for a challenge.

Thanks for stopping by ... see you soon!!

My First challenge for 2017!

Happy Saturday!!  Today, I have my first layout to share with you.  In keeping with my 2017 goals, I have decided to play along with a few challenge sites.  I found a few good ones, and am eager to play along with the challenges.   So here are the first one ...

I found this site through a mutual friend on Facebook!  And since I am a craft lover, this was a perfect fit for me.  Yes, I am talking about Kraft Plus Challenges!  And here are the January 2017 challenge ...

And here is my take on the Kraft + challenge "On your bike".

In September 2016 two of my friends and myself had an amazing holiday in Asia. We were lucky enough to visit Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.  In Malaysia we stayed mainly in Penang, where the one friends has a second home.  One Sunday we went to the market in Georgetown and also did a little tour of the street art.  I fell in love with these beautiful wall painting of the little children.  I love the facial expressions of the paintings.  This one is one of my favorites.

I've kept the layout fairly simple.  I modified the background with a mask, texture paste, distress stain and a few different stamps.

The paper is from my "left-over" pile.  These are from Heartfelt Creations "Enjoy the Journey" collection.

Thanks so much for visiting today!  I will be back later this week with another layout or 2.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Happy 2017!

I just wanted to wish all of you a very happy and prosperous 2017!

I hope to see you much more in 2017 as to 2016.  This year I want to create more ... I want to get back to what makes me happy.  I want to enjoy the process of putting a layout, card or project together, and looking back at your work and simply enjoy what you did.  No worries about if it is trendy enough, if I used "new" products, modern enough, GOOD enough.  Everything we create IS good enough, because there is no right or wrong!

With more projects comes more blogging.  I have neglected this little blog of mine terrible!  I am going to try my best to blog at least once a week.  Blogging is hard for me!  But I am going to give it my all!

Let me know what your creative plans are for 2017!  We all need encouragement, right!

See you soon!
