HOPE, FAITH & LOVE Canvas

This project has been on my mind for a very long time.  I knew I wanted to use this in a special way that would have meaning to me.  I wanted to create something that I would love, and display proudly and admire for a very long time.  Pressure much??  :-)   But since yesterday, that is EXACTLY what I have been doing!!

I was browsing Pinterest (yes, I know!!!) yesterday, and I discovered Stephanie Ackermans' Blog ... How I've never found this treasure, is beyond me!!  Her work spoke to me ... especially her signature red heart.  And right there my project was born.  I took out a 16" x 16" canvas that I had in my stash for a while now and got to work.  And here is what transpired ...

PRODUCT USED:  Enogreetings, KaiserCraft, Prims, Tim Holz, Celebr8, FabScraps

Everything I love is on here ... basically my heart on a canvas!!  This is one of my favorite bible verses ... In my life these 3 words symbolizes so much!  Also, all the elements I used on here has meaning to me.

Here's some close-up photos ...

HOPE ...

LOVE ...

FAITH ...

and some of the smaller detail ...

Now to find the perfect spot to hang this on the wall!!  Shouldn't be to hard ... right??

A very special canvas!!

Me again ... with another project share!!  To me this one is special!!  The photo is an older one ... Taken in 2014 shortly after the birth of our granddaughter, Kate.  This project was in my mind since then, but just never realized.  Today I made it a priority!  Here what it's all about ...

I found this Celebr8 chipboard piece in a South African craft store and knew I had to have it!  From this, my layout was built.  Paper is from Bo Bunny's Juliet Collection.  Again, I added some detail to the background ... this time I used a script stencil with texture paste, stamps and paint.  The flowers are beautiful ones from Prima, as is the resin heart and bodice.  I just painted the chipboard white and gold and added gold Stickles to the "love" as well as to the tips of the flowers.  Lets take a closer look ...

How beautiful is my daughter and granddaughter???

This will get a special place in our living room!  I will post a photo on my next post!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Wishing you a fabulous week ahead!

One Little Word 2016

Happy Sunday!!  We are having a lazy day today!  Just hanging around ... still in pj's, catching up and just enjoying each others company.  A perfect first Sunday for 2016.

I have decided to do One Little Word again this year.  If you are not familiar with the OLW concept, please have a look at the amazing Ali Edwards blog, where you can find out what this is all about.

I started with OLW in 2011 and did it for a few year.  Last year I just couldn't find a word that worked for me.  And I almost thought the same thing is going to happen ... and then on December 31 ... a word found me!!  The moment I read the word in a Christian novel ... It just spoke to me.  My OLW for 2016 is ...

What does this mean?  Here is a short definition of the meaning of flourish ...

What does this mean for me?  This year I want to Flourish where God has planted me!  For the past year I have basically been "surviving" here in Saudi Arabia.  I've let where we live dictates my live.  NO MORE!!  This year I want to be more active in our compound, attend more functions, meet more people, make friends with some of the local woman and just do what makes me happy!

I also want to flourish in the way I take care of ME!  I have recently discovered that I have very high cholesterol ... This is not new to me ... I have known this for quite a few years, but very foolishly choose to ignore it.  This year will be the year that I will flourish looking after myself and my health.  No more waiting for someone to go to the gym with me, no more stuffing myself with junk food, no more not exercising and no more not checking my cholesterol count regularly!!

I want to be more active on challenge sites/blogs and share more of my designs on my blog.  The past 2 years I have really, really not created nearly enough, not kept my blog active and I have not "put myself out there"!  This is the year I am stepping out ... I will take on more challenges, I will try out for more Design Teams, I will create at least 5 times per week.  I will stop being so critical of my own work, and just enjoy the process of creating!  I will submit my work on a regular basis for publication.  I WILL FLOURISH creatively in 2016.

How will I accomplish this ...

And finally ...

I will create a layout in the next week to document my OLW for 2016!  I'll be sure to share it here!

See you soon ... !!

Discover - Layout share

I am so proud to share my first 2016 page with you all!!

Since I LOVE how this one turned out ... lets have a look!!

Another page made with the utterly gorgeous Menagerie collection from Prima.  It seems that I am having a Prima love-fest lately!!  I haven't always been a fan, but lately I am really in awe of the beautiful products they have on offer!  I started  this page off by using a Prima stencil and some texture paste for extra detail to my background.  Then followed some random stamping using mostly Kaisercraft stamps.  I used Prima Bloom Stay (Purple) and mixed it with some water to add more color around my photo and to highlight some of the elements I added to the background.  All embellishments and flowers are from the same Prima collections.  Chipboard is from Blue Fern Studio.  Here is a closer look ...

The metal butterfly is from FabScraps ... I just painted it with gesso!

I shared this on the Facebook group Paper People and I had so much positive response to it.  Thank you so much ... It means the world to me!

I'm off to do some shopping with hubby and then it's scrapping time!!  See you soon ... thanks for visiting me!!

My Last layout for 2015!

I quickly wanted to share my last layout created in 2015.  I am really embarrassed at the pitiful number of layout I created last year!  I am determined to create way more in 2016.  Here is a quick count of how much (how little??) I created:

Single Layout:  8      Double Layouts:  26 (equals 52 pages)
Cards:  6
Projects:  2
Mini Albums:  4

So without any further ado ... Here is my last design for 2015.  As your recall, DH and I had a very low key Christmas.  I used a photo that we took together to use on social media sites.  Here is how this turned out ...

As I didn't have any Christmas themed paper here with me, I just looked through my stash and discovered this gorgeous paper from Bo Bunny's Juliet Collection!  I worked so well paired together with the photo and some Prima flowers.

I used this resin frame (also Prima) and added one of the stickers from the Juliet Collection sticker sheet to it.  Added some strips of paper underneath, some flowers and Prima Glass Pearls!  I am totally in love with the Glass Pearls!!  They just add something special to your page!!

The chipboard title is from KaiserCraft.  I used some gelatos to add color and added some Finnabair Glass Glitter to it as well!

Prima flowers paired with a resin clock face ... Perfect!!

and more Glass Pearls

And with that 2015 is done and dusted!!  Now forward we go in 2016!!

Looking forward to share many layouts, cards and mini albums with you in 2016!

Stay tuned ... :-)

Exploring Mother Nature - Layout Share

Me again ... with another reveal!  This time it's the newest sketch challenge at Let's Scrap! Let's get right to it ...

Photos from a family outing we had together with  my daughter and Llewellyn.  We went to a nearby Nature Reserve and did a beautiful 2km hike through a forrest.  Or let me just say ... we hiked and Llewellyn was carried on shoulders most of the time!!  Oh, to be 2 again ... :-)  I have to be honest .. I am not sure from which manufacturer this collection is, or even the name of the collection!  I didn't kept the little cut-off pieces of paper.  I know it's left-overs from a convention kit that I've used.  I added some dark brown and green cardstock, butterflies and flowers and some stamps to complete this page.

Here is a closer look at the page ...

We would love for you to show us how you use the sketch.  You can flip it, twist it, create a one pager ... anything that works for you!!  You have until January 14th to upload your creation to the Let's Scrap blog!  We look forward seeing you there!!

Happy Scrapping!!

Happy New Year!! ... and a Reveal!

My you be blessed beyond measure in this new year!!  May it be the best one yet for you and your loved ones!!

And now on to the reveal part ... The newest card sketch from Feeling Sketchy!

This time I decided to go with a layout instead of a card!  I had this photo printed out for a while now, but has not yet scrapped it.  And then, suddenly, it just "spoke" to me and this came together quickly and easily!!  Let's take a look at the actual sketch ...

For my layout I chose paper and embellishments from Prima.  I am in love with the new Menagerie Collection!  I've you haven't seen it, go and have a look at it .. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!  The butterflies and title stamps are from Kaisercraft.  I added some color, and of course beautiful Prima flowers, also from the Menagerie collection.  Here is some close-up photos ...
