True Happiness Layout Share

Here is a quick share of my layout and the latest Let's Scrap sketch!  I have been playing catch-up with layouts for Kate's album, and this is another one of our little girl.  Here's a look at my layout  ...

True Happiness
And the sketch to work with ...
Let's Scrap Sketch - 7-15-15
I used the Classique:  Pretty collection from Authenique ... It is such a pretty paper collection, perfect for little girl!!  I stuck pretty close with the sketch and didn't change much about it.  I gave some of my circles dimension by popping them up with 3D foam squares and added some embellishment to some of them for added interest.  I also added some flowers and these very pretty Prima leaves as well.

Title work was done with my Silhouette machine and black adhesive cardstock, also from Silhouettte.  I simply love the way it turned out.

I used some of the collections stickers as embellishments, and added more color with Prima Color Bloom spray ...

If you would like to play along with this sketch, then you have until July 31st to get your layout uploaded to the Let's Scrap site. They always have some nice prizes to give away :-)!!

Thanks for stopping bye ... I would love to hear your comments on my layout!

Happy Thursday!!

You are my Sunshine - Layout Share

It's Monday and instead of cleaning my house and doing the laundry, I am playing in my happy place!!  It makes me happy and chase the blues away ... what more reason do I need.  And it's not if the housework or laundry will go anywhere, right??

For this layout, I used a sketch from the newest Create Magazine.  I love this magazine!  It is full of inspiration, great sketches and spotlight a manufacturer in every edition.  I played with the double page layout in the July edition and here is my take on it ...

You Are My Sunshine

I used the fab Carta Bella Ahoy There collection for this layout.  The theme fit my photos perfectly.

All the embellishments are from the same collection.

Title and stars was cut with my Cameo ... I would be lost without this little wonder!!

How cute is this sweet face!!!

That is it from me for today.  I guess I should get back to the laundry and dirty floors now!  Have a blessed week!!

Bo Bunny Layout Share - In my Son's eyes

I quickly wanted to share this layout with you.  It's been lying on my craft table for a week now, everyday working just a little bit on it.  I never take this long with a layout, but with the sad news of the Swapp Family's loss, this page really took on a whole new meaning for me.  I started it before I heard the news of Heidi Swapp's son's death, and I think everyone of us who is a mother just hugged our kids extra this week.  It was so good to see the out pour of support and love for this family in this sad time... I warms my heart!  If this story touched your heart as well, and you wanted to send your love to the Swapp's, please have a look at THIS this post from  Maggie Holmes.

On to my layout ... Like I said, I started it last week after I completed the layout of my son @ 20.  I wanted to document the relationships he has with me and his dad on this double page layout.  These Somewhere in Time patterned papers from Bo Bunny allowed me to play with  both the feminine and masculine details, but still keep it cohesive.  I incorporated a little mini-book again on the left-hand side of the page for all those special photos I have of my son with either myself or my husband.  Here's a look at my page ...

I look at these photos of my boy, and my heart just fills with love!!  He hates it when I  wants to take photos, hate it to pose for me or with me ... But I know now even if he hates it, it is important!!  Here's a few close-up's ...

The little mini-book ...

These Prima glass pearls are AMAZING ...

Next layout is already laying on my table ... Let's hope this one doesn't take this long to complete as well!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

He is 20!!

My baby boy turned TWENTY just a few days ago!  TWENTY!!  Seriously, how could this be possible??  It feels just like the other day he was a cute, chubby baby.

Now he is a young man, still my boy but definitely not a baby anymore.  He is such a friendly, kind-heartened and  responsible young man and we are so very proud of him.  I love him so, so much.

And of course I had to record this event in his life with a layout.  For this one I sort of went with a design of my own as I couldn't find a sketch that worked for me.  I found a pack of forgotten Bo Bunny Somewhere in Time collection and knew this would work great for my layout.

I used masks, texture past and 3 different kinds of Prima Colour Bloom Spray to alter the background of the paper.  I heat embossed all the metal embellishment to give them all the same color and added some burlap to the page.  The title was cut on thick cardboard, and heat embossed to give it a metallic look

If only I saw before I took the photo of the completed layout just how crooked the photo is ... maybe I could have fixed it before the glue was dry ... :-)!!

Right now I am working on a double pager with the same Bo Bunny collection and would share that one soon ... I hope.

Talk to you soon ... Have a great day!!

You & Me - Let's Scrap Sketch 7-1-15

It's July!!!  Can you believe we are already halfway through this year??  Isn't it scary how quickly time is flying by??  Before you know it, we will decorate for Christmas ... :-)!!

This past Friday we celebrated baby Kate's first birthday.  My daughter decided to have a low key celebration for her.  Family and a few friends gathered for a barbecue and cupcakes.  It was the perfect celebration for our little girl.

The new sketch is up at Let's Scrap and I had some playtime over the weekend.  Here is the sketch I worked with ..

I have to say, I love this sketch!  My layout came together very quickly and I really love the end result.

I used the Rustic Elegance collection from Carta Bella.  I love the soft colors and patterns of this collection.  I wanted to scrap some photos of me and my hubby in celebration of our 24 wedding anniversary which we celebrated in December.  We took a little trip and just spend some quality time together.  It was such a special time for both of us!

You have until the 14th of this month to play along with this Let's Scrap sketch.  They also currently has a DT call.  You can find all the detail here.

I am working on a layout using gorgeous Bo Bunny paper and embellishment and will share soon.  Have a great day!!
