Jail*D . . . Layout share

Happy Wednesday!!!  Here's another quick share of a new layout!

Products:  Bo Bunny, AC
For this one I chose Bo Bunny's Mami Razi 2 collection.  The rustic colors worked so well with these pics! The photos was taken on our over night stay during our move from Pretoria to George.  We had reservations at an old jail that was converted into self catering accommodation.  It is situated in a small Free State town called Phillipolis.  Here are some details of the layout . . .

I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy for this page, but I changed it a bit . . .

I am really enjoying my creative time right now . . . and I'm loving the end results!  Hope you have lots of play time as well!

Moments I want to remember . . .

I quickly wanted to share one of the layouts I created over the weekend! This one started out with a sketch, but it took on a life all of it's own once I got into it!  The Teresa Collins paper I used sort of did that!  I had a few papers left from this collection, and once I had the calender paper in my hands the layout took shape around this page.  Here is what I created . . .

Products:  Teresa Collins, Martha Stewart, Bazzill
This is an older collection from TC called Now and Then.  I scrapped every single page I bought from this collection . . . I just love the blue and yellow together!

Here are a few close-up's . . .

On the left hand side I created a little book to add more photos to this layout.

I still need to add one photo and journaling to the second page of the little book.  I did not plan this layout for these pics, but they fit beautifully on here . . . I so pleased with the end product!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day!!

Happiness is . . .

Having rainy weather that keeps you indoors with plenty of scrappy time :-)!!  Yesterday I completed 2 double page layouts and today I created 2 more!  I can not tell you how GOOD it feels to just sit down and play with paper and photos ... I have been craving to do this for a very long time!!

So what did I make??  First let me share the new Let's Scrap sketch.  It's a 2 pager this week, and I changed it quite a bit to work for me.

Products:  Kaisercraft, Bo Bunny

Let's Scrap - Sketch 10-23-13
I used the beautiful True Romance collection from Kaisercraft which I teamed up with some kraft cardstock. I just love the soft pinks and blues against the neutral color of the kraft.

Lots of distressing and inking and fussing cutting was done,  as well as some background stamping to add some detail and texture to the page.

You have until Tuesday to play along with this challenge!  I'll share my other layouts with you soon . . . I just need to print out some photos!

Wishing you a wonderful Saturday!

WhOoP- wHoOp ... This Monday JUST got better!!

It's been a long time since I had bragging rights . . . so I have to brag about this!!!  I just got a message that my ANEW layout ...

was chosen as

INSPIRATION OF THE WEEK at Let's Scrap!  Thank you so much Merisa, for chosing my layout . . . at this point it really means the world to me!!

Strength ... Created for Scrap Africa

Happy Monday!!

Here with us, it is a rainy and overcast Monday . . . and I love it!!  Get's my creative juices going!! Yesterday we attended a new church in our new home town, and I have to say, we might just stick with this one!  I really felt a connection with the people, and the sermon went straight to my soul!  After church, we discovered a little antique shop and spent some time there!  And then later on I had some crafty time . . . a perfect Sunday, indeed!!

I decided to play along with the challenge currently running at Scrap Africa.  For the challenge is all about resist techniques . . . whether you use embossing (like I did), crayons, glue, gesso or any other medium that resist paint and inks!

Products:  Bazzill, Hot of the Press, Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Prima, Heartfelt Creations
Resist is something I'm familiar with, but not something a do much in my scrapbooking, but I decided to just do it!  I picked a photo an theme for my layout and then played around with stamps to from a picture in my head of what it should look!

I used clear embossing ink and clear embossing powder and after using my heat tool to set the embossing powder, I used Tim Holtz distress ink, and some glitter mist to create my background.

Challenge no. 22 is open until 31 October to get your entry in!  I can't wait to see what you come up with! Wishing you a GREAT week!

Let's Scrap - Sketch 10-16-13

Well ... Hello!!  And let's just leave it at that, shall we!  Let's not scroll down to see the date on the previous post!  Let's just get acquainted again . . . :-)!!!

Since time is once again my friend, I played along with the new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap!  This week is a card sketch, but I turned it into a layout, since I'm not much of a card-girl!

First, let take a look at the sketch and what I did with it . ..

Let's  Scrap - Sketch 10-16-13

Products:  Fancy Pants, Jenni Bowlin, Prima
I used the Park bench Collection of paper and embellishments from Fancy Pants.  Just love the colors of this collection!  This is one of the first photos we took since our move to the Western Cape.  We've been here now for about 2 weeks and on the first Sunday we went to Victoria Bay.  A beautiful little beach town were my son snapped this photo of me an hubby!

It's been a long time since I scrapped, and now it feels like my mojo did not make its way onto the moving van ... I think it's still waiting for me in Pretoria!!  But believe me, it feels SO GOOD to be creating again!!

I will see you soon!!  Happy crafting!!
