Let's Scrap - Sketch 8-28-13

It's Thursday . . . and only 2 more sleeps before the start of the SA Scrapbook Convention!! Can you tell I'm exited!!??!!

To make sure I'm not out of scrappy practice, I played with the new Let's Scrap sketch!  This weeks sketch is a really great one to work with . . . Thanks Debby!!

Here is my take on this weeks sketch . . .

The really great thing about working in a scrapbook store, is when your boss gives you paper to design with!  In this case I was given the Vintage Summer Collection from Little Yellow Bicycle to play with!  I just love the colours of this paper.  The photo here doesn't do it justice since the light in my office is not so great!  I also used my sewing machine, EK Success layered heart punch and Tim Holtz Alterations die for my title work.

Let's Scrap also just announced their new DT for the next 4 month!  Congratulations to all the talented ladies who was picked for this fab team!  I can't wait to be inspired by you!

Wishing you all a FAB Thursday!

Let's Scrap - Sketch 8-14-13

Happy Tuesday!!

I have a quick share with you today on the (not so new) Let's Scrap sketch . . . Only have time till tonight to play along with this sketch . . . so HURRY!!

I use the Teresa Collins Stationary Noted collection for this travel layout!  The first double pager of my Europe tour in April!  Here's a look at the layout and sketch . . .

Rapperswil is a beautiful little Swiss town on the banks of Zurich lake!  It was our fist stop after spending 13 hours on an airplane!  I walked up the hill by the old church and had the  most gorgeous look out over the town, with the snow-covered Alps in the background . . . pure heaven I tell you!!  Then we walked over the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland.  I burned down a couple of years ago, but was restored.  Sitting on one of the many benches spread out along the shore of the lake, I thought how wonderful it would be to live in a place like this!

Here are some of the little details on my page . . .

I love the combination of the soft blue and vibrant red of this page . . . the soft colours really makes the red pop!

Thanks for stopping by . . . Have CREATIVE day!!

I had time for a Scrap Africa Challenge!!

Yeah for me!!  It's been AGES since I had time to participate in any of the great online challenge sites, but over the weekend I had same play time and I love the new sketch that are up over at Scrap Africa!

Here is the sketch they provided followed by my layout . . .

Sketch no. 20

I used Graphics 45 Secret Garden papers, lots of flowers, chipboard from Celebr8, Ranger paint and Martha Stewart punches to create my page.  I have the quote on a stamp, and it's fits so well with this photo and where I am right now in my life!  Choosing to look at the bright side, face turned to the sun!

Bo Bunny, Prima and Petaloo flowers.  I used heat embossing and stickels to add some dimension to the flowers.  One of my new favourite tools are the Martha Stewart leave punch!!

The Scrap Africa challenge is live until 14 August!

Happy Wednesday!

My Dad, My Hero - FabScraps

Happy Thursday!!

Hard to believe it's almost weekend again!  Currently I am loving the weekends!  It's the time when I get to play with my scrappy stuff and create things that I love!  Bring on the weekend!!

I wanted to quickly share another FabScraps layout -  this time created with the Wild at Heart collection!  Such a great masculine collection of paper and embellishment to work with!

These photos were taken on Father's day this year, and I just love them - and the subjects - and knew they would work so well with this range of paper.  Here is my layout . . .

I kept this layout clean with straight lines to let the photos speak for themselves.  I love the see the relationship between my husband and my son.  They had a rocky start, but now they are fast becoming friends.  It still amazes me how  different their personalities are from one another, and yet share so many physical features!  I'm loving this time with just the 3 of us living together as a family, and I try very hard not to acknowledge the fact that it will end soon!
