Playing with Graphics 45

This is totally a new one for me!!  I've always found the Graphics 45 collection just to busy for my
style, but from the moment I say the Ladies Dairy Collection, I knew I wanted to have those gorgeous papers!  I found the colors, patterns and those beautiful images to hard to resist!!  When I got home after my South Africa trip, they were waiting for me on the dining room table.  When I opened the box and had them in my hand I knew which photo I wanted to use first for a layout!  This photo . . .

warms my heart every time I look at it!!!  This is two of my sisters and me, just before my nephews wedding.  His mama is the one in the middle!  I knew this photo deserved a layout to showcase it!

Products:  Graphics 45, Prima, Martha Steward, KaiserCraft

I'm so happy with how this one turned out . . It reminds me of how very special sister are!!!

I LOVE this photo om my husband, son on our little grandson.  All the important men in my live together!!  I am truly blessed!!  We were baby sitting little Llewellyn and that's why my son-in-law escaped this little photo session!!!

Let's Scrap Layouts

Since I've missed 6 weeks of Let's Scrap sketches, I'm trying to make up for lost time and catch up with the sketches that I've missed!!  Here are 3 layouts that I've already complete with Let's Scrap sketches!!

First we have sketch 8-8-12 . . .

Let's Scrap 8-8-12
We've been living for almost 4 years in Saudi Arabia and I didn't make all that many layouts about this country!  One of the reasons is that we're not allowed to take photos in public here.  It's always through car windows while we drive . . . and let's face it . . . those don't make great LO!!!  I have a few pics, taken mainly in areas were there isn't to many people around, and made this layout of Saudi . . .

Products:  Bo Bunny Weekend Market Collection

I love the rich colors of this Bo Bunny collection and it worked great with my photos!!

Next we have sketch 9-5-12 . . .
Let's Scrap 9-5-12 provided by PageMaps
For this layout I used the most gorgeous pictures of our adorable little grandson, Llewellyn!
A dear friend here in Saudi Arabia took them just before we left on holiday and I couldn't wait to scrap them when I got back!  Here is a look at my layout . . .

Products:  Fansy Pants Country Bouquet, flowers KaiserCraft, titles FabScraps

This baby boy is just the most precious little thing every!!  He is getting so big and cuter by the minute!!  Isn't this Fancy Pants collection just wonderful???  I love the neutral colors and it really makes it easy to scrap a variety of photos with them . . . instant love!!!!

The last sketch and layout I want to share with you is sketch 9-12-12.  Here a look at them both . . .

Scrap Africa - Sketch Challenge no. 9
was featured on the blog as one of the TOP 3!!!  It's always such an honor, and I'm so H-A-P-P-Y!!!  Thank you, Scrap Africa for showcasing my work!!

Have a wonderful Monday!!

SA Scrapbook Convention - Day 2

Sunrise over Jo'burg on Sunday!  Early start . . . and we are so excited to start this day's scrapping!!

We started with the very sweet Amy Tan . . .

We created a little mini album with some American Craft, Studio Calico and Amy Tangeringe products.  This was the most relaxed class we had and a super way of starting the day!!  I show pictures of my completed album once it's finished.  I'm still undecided as to what pictures to use her.

Next class was with Tracy Ladouceur representing Pink Paisley and some wonderful products from Heidi Swapp!  We used Heidi Swapp's amazing new product - Memory Files - to create a beautiful folder with lots of flaps and foldout to hold photos, journaling and memorabilia.  It truly is a great product to work with. I still have to complete mine and will share soon!!

Last class of the day . . .  Kerrie Gurney all the way from Australia and representing Art Deco was up with a fab double page layout.  I love beautiful colors of the beautiful KaiserCraft papers we've used for this layout.  Kerrie incorporated some great techniques to add dimension to a layout and I went a little glitter crazy, but I love the end result!!!  Here is my finished layout from this class . . .

This was my first Scrapbook Convention and it will definitely not be the last one!!  I loved every minute of it and wanted the weekend not to end!!

Thanks to all the wonderful ladies who made this such a wonderful event!!  All the teachers, the amazing helpers in our classroom, by bestie, Ilonka and Yvonne who was sitting alongside us . . . you were all wonderful!

And then we let our hair down - Exploring Emperors Palace!

And then it was girl-time!!  Ilonka and I headed to the hotel for some much needed cocktails and just talking and hanging out!!  After a cocktail or 2 . . . or 3 . . .

We wandered down to the casino complex to look for a restaurant to have dinner, and just to explore!!

We stumbled across this photo booth were you can dress up and have your picture taken . . . this is not really my kind of thing, but Ilonka wanted us to do one, and I laughed so much during this my stomach actually hurt!!!  This is the VERY colorful version of the two of us!!!

After dinner it was bedtime for us!!  Classes started at 8 am the following morning so no sleeping in for us!!

Day 2's adventures coming up tomorrow!!!
