SEM Sketch Challenge for April

Oh my word, I didn't realize that it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post!!!  Sometimes life sure has the ability to just gobble up time without you realizing it!!  I've been in such a strange mood these last few weeks . . . not sure why . . . but I think I'm miss home and family and friends at that side of the earth!!  :-(

On the scrapping front I've also been quite . . . I haven't done much and even the layoutS I did do, I'm not that happy with.  It seems my mojo is also having a bad month!!  But I wanted to play with the sketch that is up at SEM!  It's such a versatile sketch and the examples the amazing DT ladies came up with is just stunning!  Here is the wonderful sketch designed by the very talented Lisa Hoel.

And here is my layout . . . and let me just say . . . I am HAPPY with this one!

Sketchbook 4 on-line class with Kelly Purkey

Just wanted to share 2 more layouts I made with the sketches from the very talented Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook 4 class that is happening now on the Studio Calico blog.

It's the first time I've done any of Kelly's classes, and since her style is so very different from my own, I wasn't quite sure about this one!  Now, I'm so glad that I did sign up!!  I'm having a ball with these sketches that are uploaded to the classroom!!

Here are 2 more layouts I made with the sketches.

First up is this one . . . made from Sketch #1.  I stuck pretty close to the sketch this time.  The colors on these Lillibee papers are just so  yummy, and perfect for the pictures.

Paper and embellishments - Lillibee's Buttercup Collection
Punch - EK Success
Alphas - American Crafts painted with Adirondack Paint Dabbers
Buttons from my stash

The 2nd layout I want to share today, is from sketch #6.  I can't believe how quickly this layout came together!!  Normally I spent lots of time on a layout.  This one took about 1 hour to create . . . and I really, really LOVE the end result!

Here is my sketch #6  layout . . .

Paper - MME Miss Carolina Collection
Twine - MME Follow your heart collection
Buttons - Basic Grey
Punch - Martha Stewart

Thanks for stopping by my lil' blog today . . . Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!!

Some Let's Scrap Layouts to share!

I quickly wanted to share two Let's Scrap layouts that I recently made.  I'm still busy working on the newest sketch (4-11-12), but I did complete the previous weeks sketch, and I made a layout that I TOTALLY LOVE from an older sketch!!!

Here is sketch 4-4-12 and my layout:

A very random post!

For the first time since I started scrapbooking 3 years ago, I was able to make one layout to fit the criteria for 3 challenges!  I've never been able to wrap my mind around how to do that, and this one just came together without me having to over think it.  I'm taking the  new on-line Sketchbook class at Studio Calico.  The sketches are created by the very fabulous Kelly Purkey and from this sketch I've created my layout.  Here is the layout . . .

 You Color My World!
Paper - MME On the bright side Collection
Punches - 1" Martha Stewart
Buttons from my stash
Alphas - Girls paperie, American Craft

Scrap Africa has their 3rd challenge on their blog, and this one is all about rainbows.  You can create a rainbow, use a photo of a rainbow, or even use the word rainbow in your journaling or title.  As long as it is somewhere on your layout.  On mine layout the lines of circles represent a rainbow.  I just love how this turned out!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles April challenge is all about the people in our life's that make as laugh.  My son really is the goof-ball in our house.  He is still such a innocent boy who says the funniest things.  Sometimes just by looking at him, I will have a smile on my face.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog today!!  I would love for you to leave me a comment so I can return the favor!

Have a great day!!

I'm a Guest Designer at Scrap Africa!

I'm so honored to be playing along with the gals over at Scrap Africa with the new sketch challenge starting today!  Scrap Africa was started in January of this year and this is what they have to say about the reason for the blog.

"Why did we start this blog? Simply because we want to showcase and celebrate the creative talent that we have in our beautiful land. At the same time we want to share it with the rest of the world and be inspired by others. While our main focus is on scrapbooking in Southern Africa we hope that our challenges will attract scrappers from different parts of the world."

Here is the sketch that Svetlana sent me to play with . . . and let me just say that I was so inspired by the versatility of this sketch that I created 2 layouts with it!
