Let's Scrap card sketch 2-16-11

Here is the sketch for the week over at Let's Scrap. I really like the design of this one! Debby really did an awesome job with it!

I made first a layout of this sketch, and then I used the scraps to create a card. The layout is one for my album of Monique. She was getting ready to go the the school's valentines banquet while I was snapping some pics of here. Looking at her in the mirror it really hit me that she really is all grown up now. No more little girl! One of these day (PLEASE GOD NOT TO SOON!!!) I'll look at her all dressed up in a wedding gown and not just for a school formal!! I never thought I'll get this emotional while creating a layout of my daughter!

Paper & butterflies - Making Memories
Moments die cut - My minds eye
Pearl brads - American craft
Heart brad - TPS studios
Stickles

This is the card I made from the scraps that was left over from the layout!

The hearts I've used is from SEI.

See you soon!!

One More Week . . .

. . . to go before the Let's Scrap blog hop ends! Remember there is a wonderful Cosmo Cricket grand prize up for grabs, not to mention the 15 prizes from each blog AND Kathy's word scrabble and power of word challenges!! Lots and lots of scrappy goodies has to be won . . . maybe one of the prizes has your name on it!!!!

A very dear friend from South Africa is coming to visit me for a week here in Korea. I can't wait to show Natalie all the sights around Seoul. This will be a busy week for the 2 of us, and not so much scapping time!! I'm busy making a mini album for her to take back home with her at the end of the trip. I'm almost finished with embellishing it before taking pics to show you. I really love the way this one turned out and it was real quick and easy to make, but it doesn't look that way. It looks as if I spent a lot of time working on the album. I hope to take some pics tomorrow to show you. Natalie is arriving tomorrow afternoon, so I really hope to finish the album before picking her up at the airport!!

I did finish 2 layouts over the weekend. Here is one I made with Bo Bunny's (I simply LOVE Bo Bunny!!!!)Petal Pushers line. The colors on this is so bold and bright ~ LOVE IT!!

The second layout is a scraplift, but I can't seem to find the folder where I stored the information. I'll keep on looking and report back on who I scraplifted. I simply love the creative way she used these wonderful Crate papers.

I hope to be back tomorrow with the pics from Natalie's album, if not, check back later in the week. It really is a great mini!!

Wishing you all a wonderful & blessed week!! Have fun!!

A Good Scrappin' Day!!

Yesteday I was a very good housewife & mommy! I cleaned the house, did the laundry, made some good food for the kids . . . and today the reward was A SCRAPPIN' DAY!

I had the whole day to scrap! And boy, I loved every minute of it! I made 2 single page layout - Yes, I am a very S-L-O-W scrapper!! But I love both of them and I really love the end results.

I played with Bo Bunny's Learning Curve to scrap Ruan's school pics. At first glance I did not like Learning Curve that much. It seems to me as if it was more for smaller children. When we were in South Africa over the December holidays I had some time to wander around in the scrapbook shops over there, and seeing Learning Curve in real life I had a change of heart and I bought some paper & embellies for the school pics.

Everything on this page is from Bo Bunny's Learning Curve collection!

I love the little envelope in which I tucked the journaling card as well as the rest of the pictures for safe keeping!

The seconde layout is very close to my heart. I wanted to scrap this one from the beginning of January - after I've chosen my word for 2011! For some reason I just didn't find the time to get it done. I wanted to do something that I would LOVE for a long, long time! I got this wonderful sketch at Sassy Lil' sketches which I used to create my layout.

Paper - Echo Park Life is Good
Banner - created with Cricut & SCAL
Thickers - American Craft

Journaling reads:
Grace is moral strength.
Elengance. Kindness.
Gods grace is the influence or
Spirit of God operating in humans
to regenerate or strenghten them.

This is really something I'm trying to live. To handle situasion with grace. To model it to my children. To smile when someone says something nasty. To handle my emotions with grace and not become THAT woman! To handle being without my husband here with us with grace and a smile on my face. I pray that by the end of 2011 this will be a part of who I am . . .

Here in Korea, everyone is busy getting ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year. We have school holidays for the next 3 days (YEAH!!!), so lots of scrappin' time coming up for me. I haven't made any plans yet, but we might go to a ski resort. Monique & Ruan wants to try snow boarding but I'm not that brave. I'll just stay on my feet and take pics!!

May you have a wonderful & blessed day!
