Something Scrappy!

I just resently received Echo Park's "For the Record" collection of yummy papers in the mail . . . and boy oh boy, it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!! I really love the great mix of patterns, colours and the stickers and element sheets are so versatile. I just had to play a little bit with these beautiful papers! First I had to open a box or two . . . you know . . . to get to the scrappy supplies!!

First I wanted to create a card for one of my husband colleagues here in Korea! He was "assigned" to me when H left Korea 4 months ago. JC helped me with what ever I needed help with, and he was FABULOUS!!! Patient, kind, friendly and oh so helpful!! I really wanted to say "Thank You" with something special!

And the inside:

I shamelessly scraplifted this design from the Echo Park facebook page. I love the masculine feeling of this which is perfect for the reason behind my card!

And then I created this layout

for the Sketch challenge 31 at Soul Scrappers!" Here is a look at the sketch:

I did one more layout which will probably be the front page for our Seoul album (or one of many Seoul albums!!!). I found this beautiful picture on the internet and are in no way claiming it to be mine. But it's so beautiful and really capture Seoul beautifully.

I used the left handside of a Let's Scrap sketch from a few weeks ago. Here is the sketch ~ which BTW ~ I love because of the big photo's. This sketch is a fave of mine and one I'll use many, many times in the future!

Only 3 more days left before we actually fly to Saudi Arabia!!! I'm so ready this this to happen!!

May you have a wonderful & blessed week!!

Such wonderful news!! Karen just e-mailed me to let me know that I was the winner for the SSQ6 Winter Wonderland challenge at Soul Scrappers! This is such a fun challenge to participate in!! I just love to receive the envelope with the little embellies in and then playing with it to come up with something creative & fun! Sign ups for the next challenge will start soon so be sure to check it out!!!

Have you seen this weeks wonderful Let's Scrap sketch?

I just love all the circle elements and the great mix of pictures!! And while you at Let's Scrap, be sure to check the wonderful layouts the DT gals came up with. Lea also has a great challenge about doodling with a stunning layout as an example! Hope you can play along with all the fun happing at Let's Scrap!

We are having a very quite last weekend here in Seoul! After the earthquake & tsunami that hit Japan and caused such devastation, I'm not in much of a mood for going out and having fun! Please keep the gentle Japanese people in your thoughts and prayers . . . they really need it so much!

Have a great weekend!

WOW ~ it's been such a long time since I have been on here!!! Life is just so v..e..r..y hectic for me right now!!! We are in the final stages of moving to Saudi Arabia and with H being away the ball really is in my court to get things done, and keep the children happy & organised, sort out the shool on both sides of the globe. The packers has been scheduled for March 17, and we fly out later the same day. Still sorting & packing things together to make it easier for the packers and save time in the process. Tuesday is the inspection for the apartment, and the cleaning starts very, very soon! Thanks for all the e-mails and Facebook messages of support from all you wonderful people. It really is helping me to deal with what life throughs my way!!!

Not much scrappy news to share with you!! I really haven't been in the mood for scrapping ~ how sad is THAT!!!!! And now all my supplies are sorted and packed. No scrapping until I've unpacked on the other side!!!

I had to complete one challenge though! I really had fun with THIS challenge from Karen @ Soul Scrappers.

I wanted to make a little mini album with pics from the last snow we had here in Seoul. It was such a wonderful day, and the kiddos and I has SO MUCH fun playing outside! I used Bo Bunny's beautiful Midnight Frost Collection! Here is a few pages from the mini:

I'm leaving you for now with this beautiful poem I've read. It just really touched my heart!!

The power of One...

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,
One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you!
